Understanding Dismemberment
Dismemberment occurs when the false self fractures, plunging us into emotional turmoil. It may arrive as a cataclysmic event or a seemingly ordinary disappointment that releases long-buried emotional disturbances demanding to be seen and felt.
This unraveling can set off a sudden emotional tailspin — anxiety heightening your reactions, old approaches failing, and relationships or interests suddenly feeling distant.
Navigating this shift can be confusing, disorienting, and in some cases devastating. It can turn both your inner and outer world completely upside down.
The person you have known yourself to be is not the real you, and the turmoil this realization brings can be deeply unsettling. Often, this is the moment when your true self begins to emerge, rupturing the mask that kept you in survival mode for years. Recognizing that the life you created was built around a self that never truly existed can be panic-inducing, and it may feel as though there’s no clear way out.
For the true self to fully develop, safety is essential. Without it, we keep performing the role that once protected us. With an experienced guide, you gain the safety and light needed to navigate this passage to remember the parts of you that were scattered, buried, or abandoned in order to survive.
These parts must be acknowledged gently and securely for your true self to emerge, allowing you to rewrite your story based on who you genuinely are.
